Oven-Baked Beef Taco Recipe

I love taco night at our house, but one thing I hate about it is the cleanup. That is no longer an issue, thanks to this No-Fuss Beef Taco recipe. Now we can have taco night with way fewer dishes! It’s a total win.

Not only is the clean-up for these tacos a breeze, but the tacos themselves are seriously the best beef tacos ever, and they are SO easy to make.

They only take about 25 minutes total and they are ready to serve. Easy to make, delicious, and easy to clean up! This is my kind of meal.

Ingredients

Our baked beef tacos use hard shell taco shells. The shells are lined in a pan before being stuffed with the seasoned ground beef, black, and refried beans, and topped off with a cheese mix. Then they are baked in the oven and melted to perfection.Beef tacos ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make your No-Fuss Beef Tacos:

  • 2 pounds of ground beef (I use 90/10)
  • 1 large white onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • 1 cup of salsa – try our Homemade Salsa Recipe
  • 15 ounce can of black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 packages of taco seasoning or our homemade taco seasoning
  • 20 taco shells (I recommend Stand and Stuff Taco shells)
  • 16-ounce can of refried beans
  • 8 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces of Monterey Jack cheesetacos on a white plate with ground beef and tomatoes

Toppings, Options and Substitutions

One thing I love about tacos is that each person can doctor them up however they like! There are endless options when it comes to garnishing a taco. Here are some of my favorites:

Toppings:

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Sliced green onions
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Sour cream
  • Pico de gallo
  • Diced jalapeños
  • Salsa or taco sauce
  • Black olives
  • Avocado or fresh guacamole
  • Queso

Ingredient Substitutions

Ground beef: You could make these chicken tacos instead by using a rotisserie chicken or ground chicken in place of the ground beef. You could also use shredded beef or pulled pork as well. If you’d like a vegetarian option you can choose to leave the meat out altogether and add extra black beans or use a plant-based meatless crumble.

Cheese: You can substitute both cheeses with a Fiesta blend cheese if you like a bit more spice and flavor. You could also use pepper jack or Colby cheese as another option.

What to Serve with Tacos

Since the main point of these No-Fuss Tacos is that they are insanely quick and easy to make, you’ll want to make sure that your side dishes are just as simple. Our tacos go great with a simple cilantro lime rice or Mexican style rice, both of which are super quick and easy.Baked tacos with toppings

Another simple option is to serve these up with a side of tortilla chips, with yummy dips like salsa, guacamole, and queso (we have a delicious white queso as well!)

This taco recipe seriously could not be any easier. I love the simple assembly and I love the easy clean up even more. But to make things better, these are the best beef tacos ever!

The ground beef is seasoned to perfection and full of flavor. Topped off with beans and melted cheese and garnished to make it your perfect taco. You simply can’t go wrong with No Fuss Beef Tacos.
