Dirt Cake Recipe With Oreos

Our recipe for Oreo Dirt Cake is so simple and easy to prepare and makes the most delicious dirt pudding dessert using kitchen staple ingredients.

This cool, creamy, crunchy combination calls for a layer of crushed Oreos to sit both below and above a middle mixture of pudding, cream cheese, and whipped topping.

I love the contrasting flavors and textures between the vanilla pudding and chocolate Oreos; it’s the perfect way to turn a non-traditional cake into a pan of Oreo dirt pudding.

Get creative and display your dirt in a bucket or a flower pot, then add some artificial flowers and bugs for a fun flair, and serve your guests with a small shovel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use a rectangular pan to display my dirt cake?

There are many other fun ways to display your dirt cake. A glass trifle dish will make a pretty presentation for a party. You can make individual dirt cake cups using clear plastic cups or serve it out of a bucket or flower pot and add artificial flowers to the top.

How should I crush my Oreo cookies?

You can crush your Oreo cookies in a blender or food processor if you want them to have a fine crumb consistency or you can place the cookies in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. The Ziploc method will give you both small and chunky pieces. Make sure you crush the entire cookie and do not remove the filling!

Can I make my Oreo dirt cake in advance?

You can prepare this no-bake cake a day ahead of time. If possible, I recommend adding the crushed Oreos on top right before serving because they can get a little soft with the moisture of the cake. Reserve the gummy worms for serving too.
