Easy Oreo Dump Cake Recipe

Our easy Oreo Dump Cake is a fool-proof recipe that fits the traditional “dump cake” definition because you literally dump all the ingredients into a single dish and bake them until warm and gooey – no mixing, sifting, beating, or fancy equipment needed!

This Oreo cookie dump cake recipe is as easy as pouring pulsed Oreos into the bottom of a baking dish, covering the cookies with sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip, spreading on the cake mix, and sprinkling it with chopped Oreos before topping with cold butter slices and baking.

With the perfect ratio of moist, buttery chocolate cake to caramelized, tender Oreo cookies, this rectangular cake will make you rethink your round sandwich cookie.

It’s no wonder Oreo dump cakes are trending on TikTok – with minimal effort and nothing to mix, chocolate dump cake desserts are decadently delicious, but you can’t beat a five ingredient Oreo fudge cake that comes together this fast!

Substitutions and Additions

  • Choose Your Cake Mix: I used a chocolate fudge cake mix for this recipe, but any chocolate mix will work well. Try devil’s food cake, chocolate, German chocolate, or dark chocolate for a slightly different flavor.
  • Tasty Toppings: Top your Oreo dump cake with a scoop of ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup or caramel sauce, a dollop of whipped cream, M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces, chopped candy, or nuts.
  • Fill With Holiday Flavors:
    • Valentine’s Day: Use a red velvet cake mix, red velvet Oreos, and top with Valentine’s M&Ms or sprinkles.
    • St Patrick’s Day: Use a white cake mix, mint chocolate Oreos, and top with green and white sprinkles.
    • Easter: Use a carrot cake mix, carrot cake Oreos or regular Oreos, and pastel-colored M&Ms.
    • Halloween: Use a pumpkin spice cake mix, Halloween Oreos, and orange and brown sprinkles.

Tips For Making Oreo Dump Cake

  • Do NOT make the cake mix according to the directions listed on the box. You are only using the dry powder.
  • If you are not a fan of cookies and cream flavor, try this same recipe with golden Oreos and a white or yellow cake mix.

How to Store Oreo Dump Cake

  • To Store: Store any leftover Oreo Dump Cake covered in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
  • To Freeze: For longer storage, you can freeze individual portions of cake for up to three months in an air-tight, freezer-safe container.
  • To Reheat: To reheat, microwave for 30 seconds at a time until warmed through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I serve my cake warm or cool?

For a gooey cake look, serve it warm. If it is cooled, it will be more of a typical slice of cake shape. Either way, it is delicious!

How do I crush my Oreo cookies?

The easiest way to crush your Oreos is to place them in a blender or food processor and pulse until they resemble coarse crumbs. If you prefer to crush your cookies by hand, place them in a ziplock bag and smash them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin.
