Our Air Fryer Smores recipe tastes just as delicious as any classic campfire sandwich containing a chocolate and marshmallow combination stuffed between two graham cracker squares. But this quick and easy cooking method makes them just as melty in just 3 minutes using hot circulating air.

Much like the campfire classic, these air-fried smores have a graham cracker base with melted chocolate and gooey marshmallows in the middle; it’s a fun way to make your favorite summer sandwich and stuff it with a candy bar or peanut butter cup.

When it’s too cold (or hot) outside for open flames, there’s no reason to miss the fireside fun – this indoor dessert lets you skip the stick (and the mess) and melts the marshmallows and chocolate directly in the air fryer.

Why We Love Smores Air Fryer Recipes

Substitutions and Additions

  • Choose Your Chocolate: You can make your airfryer smores with the classic Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, or try them with dark chocolate or semi sweet chocolate for a less sweet version.
  • Make With Other Candy In The Middle: Instead of the standard chocolate square, try making your s’mores sandwiches with Reese’s peanut butter cups, Kit Kats, Rolo’s, Butter Fingers, Twix, or your favorite chocolate candy melted in the middle.
  • Grab Your Graham Crackers: I used honey graham crackers for this recipe but you could also use cinnamon or chocolate graham crackers if you prefer.
  • Swap The Square: Revise your recipe and make round sandwiches instead of squares! You can stuff the middle of 2 chocolate chip cookies, Oreos (check out my Oreo S’mores recipe), sugar cookies, and cookie cups, or make s’mores hand pies prepared as mini pie pastries.

How to Make Air Fryer S’mores

  1. Cook: Place 4 graham cracker squares (holes side down) in the air fryer basket. Top each cracker with a marshmallow half (Image 1). Air fry at 380 degrees for 3 minutes. (Image 2)
Pro Tip: You can take a peek at your marshmallows after 2 minutes to be sure they are not burning.
  2. Assemble The Sandwich: Immediately remove the marshmallow-topped crackers from the air fryer and place chocolate squares over 2 of the warm marshmallows (Image 3). Top the chocolate with the other graham cracker half. (Image 4)
  3. Serve: Serve warm and enjoy!
Place the crackers and marshmallow in the air fryer. Air fry the cracker. Remove from the air fryer then top with chocolate squares. Top the chocolate with the other graham cracker half.

Tips For Making The Best Air Fryer S’mores

  • Make sure to check your marshmallows after a few minutes to make sure they don’t burn, as all air fryers are different!
  • It’s important to press the sticky side of the marshmallows onto the crackers or you will end up with a huge mess in your air fryer of melted marshmallows flying around.
  • If the marshmallows shift off the crackers when cooking, immediately use a silicone spatula to guide them back on. DO NOT USE YOUR HANDS — the marshmallows will be extremely hot!
  • Work quickly to assemble the s’mores so the chocolate can melt between the hot marshmallows!
  • All air fryers are different. I used the Cosori Air fryer for this recipe. You may have to adjust the time and temperature if you have a different model.

How to Store Air Fryer S’mores

  • To Store: These s’mores are best served the day they are made.
  • To Reheat: If you have to reheat your s’mores, you can use the air fryer, a toaster oven, or the microwave with a splatter guard for 10 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I line my basket with foil or parchment paper?

Yes, you can like your air fryer tray with foil or parchment paper, although I do not find this recipe makes much of a mess. I usually lay my crackers right in the basket, but feel free to add a liner just in case your marshmallows move around when cooking.

Can I broil or bake my s’mores in the oven?

Yes, your can easily broil or bake your s’mores. To broil, place a tray of open face sandwiches in the oven and broil for about 30 seconds or until the tops of the marshmallows are a deep golden brown and they are slightly puffed. Immediately top the marshmallow with graham cracker and gently press them together. As an alternative to using the broiler, you can bake the S’mores in the oven for 1 – 1.5 minutes at 350 degrees. This will yield less of a roasted marshmallow flavor but will still be delicious!
