Treat yourself to our simple, frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites, effortlessly created with just 4 ingredients in 15 minutes for a scrumptious and satisfying snack.
Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites
Our Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Banana Bites contain nothing more than bananas, peanut butter, chocolate chips, coconut oil, and a crushed peanut topping for added texture.
Making frozen chocolate banana bites is so easy and fun for little hands to help dip and decorate – simply cut and freeze slices of the fresh fruit, spread some peanut butter in the middle, cover each sandwich with a coating of chocolate and finish with a sprinkle of peanuts, sprinkles, sea salt, or any of your favorites.
By combining the melted chocolate with coconut oil, it creates a homemade magic shell that hardens into a solid when it comes in contact with something cold, like ice cream or frozen fruit – it creates the perfect shell for frozen banana peanut butter bites.
These mini chocolate-covered bites are a healthy, homemade, warm weather treat, similar to my full-size frozen chocolate covered bananas, but these skip the stick and are prepared like a peanut butter sandwich that’s been dipped in chocolate and made into frozen banana bites.

Chocolate-Covered Banana Bites Ingredients
- Bananas
- Smooth peanut butter
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Coconut oil: Use unrefined coconut oil to avoid the coconut taste.
- Crushed peanuts
Substitutions and Additions
- Omit The Oil: The coconut oil helps the chocolate set a little bit faster. If you do not have coconut oil it can be omitted, but you should not try to use a different kind of oil. The flavor of the banana bites will be the same, but it might take the chocolate a little bit longer to set.
- Tasty Toppings: Get creative with the kids and top your treats with your favorite flavors. Some ideas include sea salt, crushed pretzels, colorful sprinkles, and coconut flakes. Make sure to sprinkle immediately after dipping as the chocolate starts to set up right away.
- Choose Your Chocolate: Instead of semi sweet chocolate, you can try dipping your sandwiches in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or even white chocolate. If you want to cut the carbs, you can use sugar free chocolate chips as well.
- Swap The Spread: If you have a peanut allergy, feel free to spread almond butter, sunflower butter, Nutella, or your favorite nut butter inside your sandwiches.

Pro-Tips
- You can use bananas at any stage of ripeness. However, the riper the bananas are, the harder it will be to cut them into clean slices since the bananas will get softer the riper they become.
- I like to use smooth peanut butter because I found that it helped keep the banana slices together better than crunchy peanut butter, which is why I opt to just add a few crushed peanuts to the top of each banana bite.
- The number of bites you end up with will depend on how thin or thick you make your banana slices. You don’t want them to be too thick, otherwise, they will be hard to work with without breaking in half.
How to Store Banana Bites
- To Store: Store these bites in the fridge or in the freezer in an airtight container.
