Ingredients
- Herb & garlic cream cheese, softened (leave out at room temperature for 30 minutes)
- Ranch dressing -dry mix
- Sour cream

Substitutions and Additions
- SOUR CREAM: Feel free to use low fat sour cream in this recipe if you prefer. However, I would not recommend using fat free, as it will really change the overall consistency of your dip.
- CREAM CHEESE: There are loads of different cream cheese flavors that exist. If you want to switch things up and try a new flavor, go for it! I would recommend the Garden Vegetable or Spicy Jalapeño flavors for a fun swap.

How to Make Homemade Ranch Chip Dip
Two simple steps are all it takes to put together this dip. Just mix and chill. It’s so easy, you’ll wonder why you ever bought chip dip at the store!
- Stir together softened cream cheese, Ranch seasoning, and sour cream.
- Cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.

- To Store: Store leftover dip in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
- To Freeze: Homemade chip dip doesn’t freeze well because of the dairy base. It’s best to make it fresh.

The better question would be what can you NOT dip in this chip dip?! Any flavor of potato chip is so delicious with this. You could also dip veggies, pretzels, or pita chips. Beyond that, you can use this as a garnish for baked or fried potatoes!
This particular recipe doesn’t fare well without sour cream. The consistency of the sour cream is needed to make it dippable. However, there are some recipes out there that use mayo in place of sour cream.
If you’re a spice lover, you can make this chip dip a little spicy by adding just a touch of chili powder or hot sauce to the mix. It’s super delicious made this way.
