Veggie Dip ingredients

Easy Veggie Dip Ingredients

  • Chive and onion cream cheese spread
  • Sour cream
  • Ranch dressing
  • Chives
  • Garlic powder: You can minced garlic if you prefer.
  • Bell peppers: Use any color bell pepper.

Substitutions and Additions

  • Swap The Sour Cream: You can use plain greek yogurt as a substitute.
  • Replace The Ranch: You replace the ranch with additional sour cream, however your dip will not have as much flavor. I would add extra chives and/or garlic.
  • Switch The Spread: You can use regular cream cheese spread instead of the chive and onion flavor, however I recommend also substituting ¼ cup sour cream for extra ranch to enhance the flavor. You can also try Garden Vegetable or Spicy Jalapeño flavors for a fun swap.
  • Vegan Version: To make a vegan veggie dip, swap the cream cheese spread, sour cream, and Ranch dressing for your favorite dairy-free versions.

Tips For Making The Best Veggie Dip

  • You can use low-fat or full-fat sour cream in this recipe. However, I would not recommend using fat-free, as it will change the overall consistency of your dip.
  • I prefer using fresh chives for this recipe, however, you can use dried chives in a pinch. You want to use about 2 teaspoons of dried chives.

Serving Suggestions

A veggie dip complements carrots, tomatoes, celery, bell pepper, and broccoli. You can also serve it with crackers like Ritz, Wheat Thins, water crackers or other party crackers. If you want to make it a little fancier, you can toast baguette slices and serve them with a scoop of the dip on top sprinkled with chive. You can also serve it alongside chips, especially plain potato or tortilla chips.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I store my Easy Veggie Dip?

This veggie dip can be stored, well covered or in an airtight container, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. It can be left out for up to 4 hours at room temperature but should not be left out any longer than that. I do not recommend freezing it as it may separate and get watery.

What should I serve with my dip?

The better question would be what can you NOT dip in this chip dip?! Serve it with a variety of veggies, pretzels, potato chips, crackers, or pita chips. This is also great with French bread, crostinis, or tortilla chips. You can even use it as a spread on sandwiches or a topping on baked potatoes. It’s delicious on just about anything!
