There are not many things from McDonald’s that I want to copycat, but the Shamrock Shake is one of those that I cannot resist. As soon as I start seeing St. Patrick’s Day decorations out, my mind goes right to that green, delicious, minty treat!
This Shamrock Shake recipe is something that is crazy easy to make – if you can make a vanilla shake – then you have already mastered it! Many people say you must use mint extract and absolutely do not use peppermint extract – personally, I think they both taste good! I will say, but a quality vanilla ice cream. Don’t settle in this department – this is where the yumminess comes from!
Are you ready for the complicated Shamrock Shake recipe?? Okay, listen closely now…
Ingredients & Instructions
- 3 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 3/4 cup milk (I used skim because that is what I have in the house, but you may want to go with 1%)
- 1/2 tsp mint extract (I used peppermint, but either taste good to me)
- Green food coloring
Throw it all in a blender and you are done!! Easy as pie ….. or a shake in this case!
