Tips For Making The Best Waffle Iron Quesadilla

  • Resist the urge to overstuff your tortilla! Adding a lot of wet ingredients, like tomatoes, will leak out of the waffle maker and make a mess on your countertop. Overstuffing cheese will release a lot of oil residue as well.
  • You can saute the peppers ahead for extra flavor and less liquid being released in the quesadilla. This will help eliminate a soggy quesadilla.
  • Watch for the golden waffle marks to appear on the tortilla. Waiting for an overall brown color on the tortilla will result in an overcooked quesadilla.
  • Nonstick spray is critical for easy cleanup of your waffle maker. Use a silicone spatula to remove any debris before cooking the next quesadilla.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled and quadrupled for the family. Everyone can assemble their own and cooked quesadillas can stay warm in a 200-degree oven until they are all ready!

How to Store Waffle Iron Quesadillas

  • To Store: Wrap any leftover quesadillas tightly in plastic and place in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • To Reheat: To reheat your quesadillas, place in a toaster oven or oven until heated through.
