No Bake Dessert Dip: A Quick and Easy Recipe

Craving Oreo cheesecake but don’t want to cook? This no-bake Oreo Dip recipe is just what you need! With only five ingredients and a 10-minute prep time, you can have a rich, creamy dessert dip that delivers decadent cheesecake flavor combined with a fun cookie crunch.

Similar to my Oreo fluff, which is packed with crushed Oreos, creamy pudding, and whipped topping, this dessert is sturdier and creamier, making it perfect for pairing with your favorite dippers. The rich cream cheese base adds extra thickness to the texture, creating a more substantial dip that will hold up even with the heaviest scoops.

Whether you’re hosting a party or serving kids an after-school snack, this simple recipe is always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients Needed for Oreo Dip

Oreo Dip ingredients.
  • Cream cheese: Opt for full-fat cream cheese for the best flavor and texture. Make sure it’s softened to prevent lumps.
  • Vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar
  • Cool Whip: You can find Cool Whip in the freezer aisle. Thaw it in the fridge for a few hours before using. If you prefer homemade whipped cream, whip about 1 cup of heavy cream with a tablespoon of powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the dip in place of Cool Whip.
  • Oreo cookies: Classic Oreos are ideal, but feel free to use double-stuffed for an extra indulgent treat.

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

How to Make Oreo Dip at Home

  1. Beat The Base: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Flavor And Fold: Stir in the vanilla extract, then gently fold in the Cool Whip until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Crushed Cookies: Crush the Oreos and fold them into the cream cheese mixture. Then sprinkle more crushed Oreos on top.
  4. Chill: Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and start scooping! Enjoy!

Can You Make Oreo Dip Ahead of Time?

You can absolutely make this Oreo Dip ahead of time! In fact, it’s even better when it has some time to chill and let the flavors meld together. You can prepare the Oreo Dip up to up to 24 hours in advance. Follow the recipe and then store it in an airtight container in the fridge. This allows the flavors to develop, making it even creamier and more delicious when you serve it.

  • Crush The Cookies: You can crush your Oreo cookies in a blender or food processor as long as they are not pulverized into fine crumbs. Alternately, you can place the cookies in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Make sure you crush the entire cookie and do not remove the filling!
  • Don’t Deflate The Dip: Over-mixing can deflate the dip, so gently fold in the Cool Whip for a fluffier result.
  • Stir Before Serving: After chilling, the dip may thicken a bit. Just give it a quick stir before serving to restore its creamy texture.

What to Serve with Oreo Dip

This creamy Oreo cookie dip is the perfect dessert for holiday parties, game day snacking, potlucks, or family get-togethers. It’s so good that you’ll want to skip the dippers and eat it straight from the spoon.

  • Delicious Dippers: This easy dessert dip pairs perfectly with fresh fruit, crackers, cookies, or any of your favorite dippers (including your finger!). Choose your favorite finger foods, like graham crackers, shortbread cookies, fresh strawberries, apple slices, pretzels, vanilla wafers, animal crackers, or any sweet or savory snack.
  • Skip The Dip: Instead of serving this sweet treat as a dessert dip, you can sandwich it between two Oreo cheesecake cookies or use it to frost a cake, cupcakes, cookies, or brownies. It even tastes delicious as a spread for toast and bagels.

Variations of Oreo Dip to Try

  • Make It More Chocolatey: You can easily make this an extra rich chocolate Oreo dip by mixing in 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • Use Other Oreos: Use Golden Oreos or mix them with regular Oreos for a blend of chocolate and vanilla flavors. Or make it minty by swapping the classic Oreos for mint Oreos and adding a few drops of peppermint extract. You can even experiment with different flavors of Oreos depending on your personal preference. Chocolate creme Oreos, birthday cake Oreos, and red velvet Oreos will all taste delicious in this dip.
  • Beyond The Base: Cheesecake dip recipes are the perfect base for adding your favorite mix-ins. Instead of Oreo cookies, you can stir in colorful sprinkles to make a Sugar Cookie Dip, Funfetti cake mix to mimic my Funfetti Dip (aka Dunkaroo Dip), or hazelnut spread (like my Nutella Dip). For extra crunch, mix in M&M’s, chopped pecans, crushed candy (like my Candy Cane Dip and Twix Dip), or cookie crumbles.

How to Store Leftover Oreo Dip

  • To Store: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Give it a quick stir before serving, as it may settle a bit over time.
  • To Freeze: Freezing is not recommended, as the texture may change and become watery upon thawing. It’s best enjoyed fresh or refrigerated for a few days.

My spin on this is to make an Oreo cookie crumb pie crust, spread a recipe of “Oreo Dip” onto the crust…garnish and chill to firm up, creating a no-bake “Creamy Oreo Pie” 😋
