How to Make Fireball Jello Shots

It is so quick and easy to make these Fireball Jello Shots by simply dissolving a package of jello with water, adding apple juice and alcohol, and chilling the mixture until firm. It’s always fun to consume a boozy beverage when it wiggles and jiggles!

  1. Place 12 (2-ounce) plastic jell o shot cups, without the lids, onto a sheet tray.
Pro Tip: Placing them onto the sheet tray before filling will make it easier to transport to the refrigerator to chill. You can also use a muffin tray to make sure they stay in place.
  2. Whisk together the packet of jello and boiling water (do not use cold water because the jello will not dissolve) until the powder is completely dissolved.
Pro Tip: I used a glass measuring cup to mix it all in – the spout makes it easy to pour into the cups.
  3. Add the apple juice and Fireball cinnamon whiskey and whisk for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture evenly into the plastic cups and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or up to overnight.
  5. Once your Fireball jello shots have set up, garnish with whipped topping, holiday sprinkles, and red-hot candies.
  6. Enjoy!

Tips From Our Recipe Developer

  • If you cannot find the 2-ounce plastic shot cups with lids, they may be labeled as condiment cups. These can be used interchangeably. You can use any shot cups you prefer but keep in mind that your servings may be different from this recipe.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled if you are serving them at a large party. Just remember to label them for the adults only and not the kids!

Storage Tips

  • To Store: Store your jello shots covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not add the garnish until just before serving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these jello shots without alcohol?

Feel free to leave out the alcohol to make these jello shots non-alcoholic. You can add in extra apple juice or even ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. It will make a perfectly flavorful and fun jello shot that is kid-friendly or for adults who prefer no alcohol.

Can I make these Fireball Jello Shots in advance?

You can make these Fireball Jello Shots up to 3 days ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator with the plastic lids that come with the package of shot cups. Garnish them just before you are ready to serve.

What type of apple juice should I use for this recipe?

I suggest using regular apple juice for this recipe, like what you would serve to kids, and not a freshly pressed kind. I find that the fresh-pressed, or cider apple juices tend to have a sediment that settles at the bottom of the bottles and needs to be shaken before drinking. This makes the apple juices cloudy and can therefore make your Fireball Jello Shots look cloudy and not clear like this recipe.
