Copycat Big Mac Sliders

Our mini Big Mac Sliders are a fun spin on a favorite restaurant sandwich and so easy to make at home. These big mac burgers may be miniature in size, but they are loaded with the same delicious flavors as their big burger counterparts, just prepared small so you can serve them as a snack.

My Big Mac mini sliders are made with a simple shortcut: I skip making individual patties and instead bake the beef mixture as a single slab in a sheet pan, then lay it right on top of the bottom bun, secret sauce, and lettuce, cover it with cheese and pickles, and place the other portion of the bread on top.

Before baking, the buns are brushed with melted butter and sprinkled with sesame seeds – they have all the fixings that make a Big Mac so special, served in a small sandwich size to fit in one hand.

Substitutions and Additions

  • Choose Your Cheese: Although American cheese is the classic choice, you can substitute American cheese for cheddar cheese, Colby, Monterrey Jack, Pepper Jack, Swiss, or Kraft Singles slices if needed.
  • Pick Your Protein: For this recipe I used lean ground beef. However, for a healthier option, you can use extra lean ground beef, ground turkey, or ground chicken. For a vegetarian version, feel free to use your favorite meat alternative.
  • Bread Base: I love using Kings Hawaiian Sweet Rolls for these sliders because the sweetness compliments the savory filling. However Kings Hawaiian savory rolls, other small dinner rolls, or homemade slider buns will also work.

How to Make Big Mac Sliders

  1. Make The Big Mac Sauce: Mix together all ingredients for the sauce (this will create a pink color sauce) cover, and chill in the refrigerator until ready to use. (preheat oven to 350 degrees)

Tip For the Best Big Mac Sliders

  • You can use a large pan size for the hamburger and form the hamburger in a rectangle shape similar to the size of the Hawaiian rolls if you do not have a 9×13.
  • Trim any excess meat from the large patty around the edges after it finished cooking to better fit flush over top of the rolls.
  • Less lean meat will shrink more as it cooks.
  • As you’re handling these sliders, the sesame seeds will come off at times.
  • You can prepare your Big Mac sauce with Thousand Island dressing if you prefer.

What To Serve With Big Mac Sliders

Serve these sliders with a side of onion rings, Air Fryer Home Fries, French Fries, or Sweet Potato Fries

They also pair perfectly on a party table with my other delicious small sandwiches. For the ultimate slider spread, serve these mini Big Macs beside my White Castle Sliders, Philly Cheesesteak Sliders, Buffalo Chicken Sliders, Hot Roast Beef Sliders, and Pizza Sliders.

Or you can skip the sandwiches altogether and prepare your patties like my Big Mac Salad (Cheeseburger Salad) for a flavorful low-carb, keto-friendly dish for dieters and non-dieters alike.

How to Store Big Mac Sliders

  • To Store: I do not recommend storing these sliders once fully assembled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I store and reheat my Big Mac sliders?

Once you have assembled the Big Mac sliders with all of the fixings, they don’t reheat or store well. The lettuce will become wilted and the bread will get soggy. Sliders are best eaten right away.

Can I make Big Mac Sliders in advance?

Yes, you can prepare your sliders in advance, but wait to assemble them until you are ready to serve. You can prep the special sauce up to 3 days in advance and store in the fridge and also cook the beef patty slab up to 3 days in advance. When you are ready to serve, simply reheat the hamburger patty in the oven for about 5 minutes at 350°F. Then assemble the sliders according to my simple steps.

So good! Made it exactly as written except I used Hawaiian butter rolls instead of the sweet. I baked it with the lettuce in it and it was totally fine, no need to try and lift the bun to put it on after baking. Used Hellmann’s mayonnaise (thank you Jenn for getting back to me on that!) My 12 and 15 year old sons and husband raved! Will definitely make these again!

  4. Thinking of making these for the 4th! Looking at the pics you posted, I can’t figure out where to put the lettuce! You say to do the bottom bun, sauce, lettuce, but the pic looks the opposite? What’s the best way to do it? Thanks!!
