4th of July Fruit Platter

Our easy 4th of July Fruit and Snack Tray recipe is filled with fresh fruit (juicy strawberries, plump blueberries, rich blackberries, and tangy raspberries), star-shaped marshmallows, and chocolate covered pretzels – it’s healthy, sweet, crunchy, and decadent, all at the same time!

A festive spread is a fun way to celebrate Independence Day (and Memorial Day and Labor Day too) with family and friends and makes any patriotic party perfectly appealing.

  • Large S’more Marshmallows: You want to use the flat ones because you’ll be shaping them into stars.
  • Mini pretzels: Any small shape will work!
  • Vanilla almond bark: Candy Melts®, candy wafers, chocolate coating, almond bark are all great for coating your pretzels without needing to temper chocolate.
  • Red and blue sanding sugar: Feel free to use patriotic-colored sprinkles instead.

How to Make 4th of July Charcuterie Board

  1. Prepare The Pretzels: Melt the almond bark according to the package instructions until smooth and creamy. Dip each pretzel into the melted almond bark to coat completely. Sprinkle with sanding sugar before the chocolate sets.
  2. Make The Marshmallow Stars: Press a star-shaped cookie cutter into the center of a marshmallow. Push down evenly to ensure a clean cut and remove.
  3. Add Berry Bowls: Place the blueberries and blackberries into two small bowls and set one in the top left corner and the other in the bottom right corner of the tray. I found my star-shapped bowls here!
  4. Form A Flag: Create two rows of strawberries, a line of marshmallows, two lines of raspberries, then add two rows of chocolate-covered pretzels. Finish the arrangement with two additional rows of strawberries.

What if I do not have star shaped bowls?

Ingredients
  

  • 1-2 pounds strawberries
  • 1-2 pints blueberries
  • 1-2 pints raspberries
  • 1-2 pints blackberries
  • 18-20 Large S’more Marshmallows the flat ones
  • 30 mini pretzels
  • 6 ounces vanilla almond bark
  • Red and blue sanding sugar

Instructions
 

Chocolate covered pretzels:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the vanilla almond bark according to the package instructions until smooth and creamy.

  • Dip each mini pretzel into the melted almond bark, using a fork or dipping tool to coat it completely.
    30 mini pretzels
  • Shake off any excess chocolate and place the chocolate-covered pretzel on the prepared baking sheet.
  • If desired, sprinkle some colorful sprinkles over the chocolate-covered pretzels before the chocolate sets.

  • Repeat the dipping process with the remaining pretzels.
  • Allow the chocolate-covered pretzels to set at room temperature until the chocolate hardens, or place them in the refrigerator for faster setting.

Star Marshmallows:

  • Begin by laying out your large s’more marshmallows on a clean, flat surface.
    18-20 Large S’more Marshmallows
  • Take a star-shaped cookie cutter and press it firmly into the center of a marshmallow. Push down evenly to ensure a clean cut.
  • Carefully remove the cookie cutter, leaving behind a perfectly shaped star marshmallow.
  • Repeat this process for as many marshmallows as you’d like to transform into star shapes.
  • If the marshmallows stick to the cookie cutter, you can dip the edges of the cutter in powdered sugar or cornstarch to prevent sticking.

Board Arrangement:

  • Begin by arranging blueberries and blackberries in two small star-shaped bowls. If star-shaped bowls aren’t available, regular round bowls will suffice.
