Potato Chip Chicken Tenders are strips of juicy chicken breasts, cooked in the oven after being coated with a salty, potato chip breading, could it get much better?
Potato chip chicken tenders are the ultimate tasty lunchtime meal or family-friendly dinner and a great alternative to fried chicken.
Potato Chip Chicken Tenders Recipe
Growing up, my kiddos were crazy about chicken tenders (they actually still are!). It was always their go-to order at every restaurant.
I know that there are tons of frozen options for chicken nuggets, chicken fingers, and tenders, but whenever I can make something homemade I like to choose that option over the frozen one.
This recipe especially comes in handy to make my own delicious, homemade breaded chicken strips!
For me, the best kind of chicken tenders are the ones that have super crunchy breading. The contrast of the crunch with the moist, tender chicken in the middle is just so delicious. When I tried these chicken tenders, I was sold immediately. They are crispy, crunchy, and delicious!
Best of all, they are also super easy to make. First, you’ll mix up a combination or flour and spices. Then it’s as simple as just crushing up your favorite potato chips and dipping your chicken from the flour, to eggs, and finally into the potato chips. Then pop them in the oven and you’ve got yourself crispy, homemade chicken tenders.

Additions & Substitutions
Chicken: Want to make your life a little easier? Take a step out by getting your chicken already cut into chicken tenders. You can usually find these in the meat section of your grocery store and packed up for you! You will need about 15 chicken tenders for this recipe.
Potato Chips: You can use any type of potato chips for your chicken tender breading. We like using ruffled chips, but shake it up and try some other types and flavors! (BBQ chips are next on my list and I think French Onion would be delicious too!)

Dipping Sauces
We love to dip our chicken fingers in pretty much anything. Some of our favorites are:
- Ranch dressing
- Barbecue sauce
- Hot Sauce
- Our Copycat Chick Fil A sauce (recipe coming soon)
How to Store Potato Chip Chicken Tenders
Leftover chicken tenders can be stored in the fridge in a Ziploc bag or airtight container for 3 to 4 days. To reheat them and keep the breading crunchy, I recommend reheating your chicken tenders in the oven or a toaster oven or air fryer, instead of the microwave.
Cooked chicken tenders that are leftover can be frozen for up to 1 month. Place them in the freezer, on a baking sheet, until they are hard. Then put them into a Ziploc freezer bag. You can cook them straight from the freezer at 425 for 20-25 minutes.
