Instant Pot Monkey Bread Recipe

The instant pot is my new favorite thing! That’s why I asked one of my favorite bloggers, Jen from Pink When, to come over and share her delicious Instant Pot Monkey Bread Recipe with all of us!

I am beyond excited to share some of my favorite recipes, and today I am going to be sharing this mouthwatering Instant Pot monkey bread recipe.

Lazy Saturday mornings are my favorites, followed closely by long afternoon naps. There is no mad dash to get out of the door for work or school and we can lounge around and munch on our favorite snacks.

This is also the perfect time for me to break out and make my favorite Monkey Bread Recipe.

Have you jumped on the Instant pot bandwagon yet? I jumped in both feet first and have been nothing but happy with it. If you are looking for a kitchen gadget to make life a little easier, you are going to love this baby.

Why do I love using my Instant Pot so much? Not only is it easy to use, but you can convert so many recipes that would normally take hours into about one fourth of the time. It’s a time saver, but you don’t have to sacrifice any of the flavor from cooking all day. They really are amazing, and if you don’t have one, I would highly recommend looking into it!

How to make Instant Pot Monkey Bread Recipe

What do you need to make the Instant Pot monkey bread recipe?

First, you need a smaller than normal bundt cake pan. I picked up a 6 cup bundt pan just for using with my Instant pot.

This easy Instant Pot Monkey Bread recipe is one of our favorite lazy day snacks and a perfect recipe if you are new to pressure cooking.

Instant Pot Monkey Bread ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 packages of biscuit dough (one butter, one regular flavor cut into small pieces)
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 large ziplock bag
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • foil

Instant Pot Monkey Bread instructions:

To get started, add the 1 1/2 cup of water to the Instant pot and add the trivet that came with your pressure cooker.

Bread and Instant Pot

Add the white sugar, cinnamon, and biscuit dough to the ziplock bag and then shake well until everything is coated.

Place a long strip of foil that is rolled into the Instant pot over the trivet with the sides coming up to the top.

Place the mixture into your bundt pan, and then place the bundt pan over the foil on the trivet.

Fold the foil strips over so that they don’t get caught in the grooves when you attach the lid. (We will be using the foil strip as makeshift handles when we remove the bundt pan from the pot after cooking.)

Place the lid and turn until locked. Set the manual mode for 20 minutes and allow your bread to cook.

Once the time has finished, do a quick release and carefully remove the monkey bread from the Instant Pot. (Be careful as your bundt pan will still be hot.)

Over medium heat melt the butter, vanilla, and brown sugar. Place the monkey bread on a plate, and then drizzle the top with the butter and brown sugar.

Instant Pot Monkey Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

    My biscuit dough was still raw after 20 minutes on manual high pressure mode. I put everything in the oven on 350 degrees and baked until it was done.

    Tastes great and I love the glaze! I will adjust the cooking time if I ever try this again.

    I had a craving this Mother’s Day and decided to go for it. Your recipe turned out great, as I did follow it step for step. However because I didn’t use the powdered sugar anywhere in the recipe I used it as a sprinkle over the glaze and it not only tasted great it looked pretty. Thanks for sharing!!

  4. So my instant pot doesn’t have a manual mode, and it isn’t the one that has the cake mode either. So is there another mode I can use?

    Odd question: Is the foil necessary? I normally just use the trivet handles to lift up a pan inside.

    My oven ceased cooking evenly, leaving the middle of everything raw; so until we’re able to replace it, I look for things I can make on the instant pot or in “mini” form.

  6. Just made this. I made changes, I used same pan, but tube cinnamon rolls, and used icing that came with rolls. I used her time of 8 minutes, 1 1/2 cups of water, quick release. It turned out perfect!

  7. While I love my instant pot, I am wondering why you would use it for a recipe like this. It doesn’t seem like a time saver or a recipe that you would otherwise have to really babysit. I’m not looking to be negative, just curious for the ‘why’s before I try.

    1. I am looking for as many Instant Pot recipes as possible because we don’t have AC and in the summer I refuse to turn the oven on and heat up the house even more. Some of them are not necessarily a time-saver but for us it is a sanity saver on the hot days! This is just our “why”, I’m sure others have different reasons.

      1. I totally get that! I have a roaster oven I use for the exact same reason. And I ‘bake’ on our grill in the summer as well. Thanks!
