Delicious S’mores Dessert Pizza

This S’mores Pizza recipe is a tasty twist on a traditionally savory meal, easily made in a foil pack, and the perfect way to end any day outdoors. While I love classic campfire cooking, preparing this dessert in packets lets you skip the stick (and the mess) and melts the marshmallows with the chocolate tucked inside the aluminum package.

It is so much fun to create your own customized dessert pizza, piled high with your favorite fillings and sweet toppings. Then simply fold the contents into a foil pack and cook it over the campfire until the crust is golden brown and each slice is hot and melty.

How to Make S’mores Pizza

S’mores Pizza is an easy way to make a delicious melted campfire dessert in under 15 minutes with minimal mess. It’s always fun to cook over an open fire, especially when it’s a pizza turned into a sweet treat!

  1. Build The Fire: Build the campfire and allow it to burn down to bed of coals. Place a grate over the coal bed or fire up the oven or grill.
  2. Prepare The Pizza: Place a tortilla on top of aluminum foil and spread on Nutella, sprinkle with graham crackers, cover with broken Hershey bars, and top with mini marshmallows. Repeat for the remaining tortillas.
Pro Tip: Make sure to leave a small amount of tortilla edge un-coated.
  3. Cook Over Coals: Place the foil-topped dessert pizzas on the grate over the bed of coals and then “tent” it with the larger piece of foil. Turn the pizzas after 4-6 minutes to help cook evenly.
  4. Slice And Serve: Once the chocolate and marshmallows are gooey and melted, remove the dessert pizzas. Slice and serve while hot and melty. Enjoy!

  • I love to use nonstick foil to cook my pizza over the campfire.
  • These dessert pizzas are meant to be eaten immediately and do not keep well.

Storage Tips

  • To Store: I do not recommend storing any leftover S’mores Pizza. They are best eaten straight from the campfire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make my foil pack pizzas indoors?

You don’t always need a campfire for S’mores! If the weather’s bad, or you don’t feel like firing up the grill, simply place the packets into a preheated 400°F oven for about 5 minutes. You will have delicious indoor s’mores!

What does it mean to cook in a foil pack?

Foil packet cooking is cooking food that is wrapped or tented in aluminum foil. The packet can be cooked over campfire coals, on a grill, or in an oven.
The foil seals in moisture to help steam and cook your meal or dessert. The best part of foil packet cooking is that once you open your packet, your meal is ready to eat, right out of the foil. It’s the perfect minimal mess, quick prep camping meal or dessert option.

How can I make this a fun activity for my kids?

Throw a pizza party! This recipe is so versatile and can be customized to include everyone’s favorite toppings. You can set out bowls of spreads, crushed cookies, candy, or even fresh fruit and let your friends and family design their own delicious dessert.
