  • Clear vanilla flavoring: This is not the same as vanilla extract!
  • Almond extract
  • Powdered sugar
  • Whipped topping or heavy whipping cream
  • Holiday jimmies sprinkles
  • Graham crackers and whole strawberries for dipping

Substitutions and Additions

  • Tasty Toppings: You can top your sugar cookie dip with chocolate chips, crushed graham crackers, and colorful sprinkles.
  • Switch Up The Sprinkles: This dip can be made for any holiday or special occasion simply by switching up the sprinkles to fit with the party theme. 1. Make The Mixture: Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the vanilla flavoring and almond extract, mix, and then add the powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the thawed whipped topping.
  2. Add Christmas Color: Fold in the holiday jimmies sprinkles and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Just before serving, sprinkle with more jimmies.
  3. Serve: Serve with your favorite sweet or salty dipping snacks. Enjoy!
  • You can substitute any colorful jimmies for the holiday-themed jimmies. I do not recommend using nonpareils because the colors will bleed.
  • I do not recommend freezing the dip. You can make it the day or night before and keep it covered in the fridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make sugar cookie Dip in advance?

Yes, you can absolutely make this dessert dip a day in advance. Place the dip in the refrigerator, covered it, and top it with the remaining sprinkles right before you are ready to serve it.

What is the best way to soften the cream cheese?

The best way to soften your cream cheese is by keeping it in the package for a few hours at room temperature. However, you can carefully heat it up in the microwave (be sure to remove the wrapper first!) in increments of 20 seconds at a lower power. If you don’t soften your cream cheese, your dip will come out lumpy.

Does my dip need to be refrigerated?

Yes, anything made with cream cheese should be placed in the fridge to keep it from spoiling. It’s fine to have your sugar cookie dip out on the table for an hour or two when serving. After that, bacteria growth is possible.
