Dipped 4th Of July Fruit Cones

Our Patriotic Fruit Cones recipe is an adorable way to showcase your American pride in a perfectly portioned, portable fresh fruit package.

Filled with red, white, and blue colors and sweet berry flavors, this healthy, hand-held holiday treat takes mere minutes to make using 3 types of fruit, melted chocolate, waffle cones, sugar sprinkles, and pirouette cream-filled cookies.

Fruit is always more fun to consume when served in candy-dipped ice cream cones; this Independence Day dessert is a better-for-you sweet “scoop” without worrying about melting or making a mess.

The best part of the 4th of July is the food that accompanies the fireworks; that’s why I love making desserts in ice cream cones because they are easy to hold when you need to grab one and get to the festivities fast!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to store fruit ice cream cones?

These fruit cones should be stored unassembled for the best results. Fruit and yogurt can be stored in your refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Candy-dipped cones can be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.

Can I make this ahead of time and freeze it?

I do not recommend freezing any of the ingredients in these fruit cones. The cones become soggy once thawed and the fruit tends to become very wet with condensation.

Do I have to use store-bought cones, or can I make my own?

You can make your own cones for these fruit cones; you do not have to use store-bought. If you make your own cones, keep in mind that they must be large enough to fit layers of fruit and yogurt.
