- Toast the Cheerios: Add the Cheerios to the skillet and stir constantly for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden and lightly toasted.
- Coat with cinnamon sugar: Remove from heat and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the warm cereal. Stir or toss until all the Cheerios are coated.
- Cool before serving: Let the coated Cheerios cool completely to get that perfect sweet and crunchy texture.

Make-Ahead and Storage Tips
- Make ahead: You can prepare this easy homemade snack up to 1 day in advance and let cool completely before storing in a sealed container on the countertop to keep them crisp.
- Store: Keep leftovers covered in an airtight container or a resealable gallon-size bag at room temperature for up to 3 days. Make sure to store in a cool, dry place to prevent the butter coating from softening or going stale.
- Do not refrigerate: It can make the Cheerios lose their crunch and absorb moisture.
- Refresh leftovers: Toast the cereal in a dry skillet for 1–2 minutes to bring back crispiness.

Jenn’s Notes
- Make ahead: Cool completely, then store in a sealed container up to 1 day in advance.
- Store: Keep in an airtight container or zip bag at room temp for up to 3 days.
- No fridge: It adds moisture and kills the crunch.
- Too soft? Re-crisp in a dry skillet for a minute or two.
- Use plain Cheerios—flavored ones toast faster and get too sweet.
- Stir often to toast evenly and avoid burning.
- Cool completely so they stay crunchy.
- Try extra seasoning like nutmeg, pumpkin spice, or cayenne.
- Make a double batch—they disappear fast at parties!

It’s too bad they are only good for “ up to 3 days” I would hope for something that lasts a little longer
That’s true these little treats are definitely at their best when fresh! You can try storing them in an airtight container in the fridge for a few extra days, then bring them to room temperature before serving. Just keep in mind they may lose some of their crunch over time.
