When I think about Fall, I think about growing up going to the cider mill and picking apples, having cider and donuts and then going home and making caramel apples.
While I love a good caramel apple, eating them is never an easy feat. That is where our Caramel Apple Dip comes in! This easy caramel apple dip recipe makes a light and fluffy dessert dip that can be scooped with fresh fruit (or your favorite finger foods).
This cream cheese caramel apple dip is one of those Fall treats that are not to be missed! It has simple ingredients that start with a cream cheese layer, followed by gooey caramel, and topped with crunchy toffee bits. It will be a huge hit for a tailgate or your next fall gatherings!

Ingredients Notes
- Cream cheese: Let your cream cheese soften to room temperature to make mixing it with the other ingredients easier.
- Powdered sugar: Sifted powdered sugar adds sweetness to the dip and helps to prevent any lumps in the final mixture.
- Vanilla extract: Vanilla will help offset the tang of the cream cheese. It also adds a warm and aromatic note that complements both the caramel and the cream cheese.
- Caramel dip: Marzetti is a popular brand found in the produce section near the apples. However, if you can not find it, any thick salted caramel sauce, such as Mrs. Richards or Smuckers brands, will also work well for caramel dip recipes. Homemade salted caramel sauce is also a great option if you have the time.
- English toffee bits: Toffee bits add a delightful crunch and an extra layer of caramelized sweetness, creating a contrast in texture that makes the dip more interesting.
- Red and green apples: I recommend using either Gala, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady apples for the red apples used for dipping. These varieties are sweet and slightly tart, with a crisp texture to them, and pair very well with the caramel apple dip. The most well-known green apple variety, Granny Smith apples are tart, crisp, and juicy, making a great contrast for dipping in something sweet.

How to Make Caramel Apple Dip
- Make The Mixture: In a medium bowl, using a hand mixer or standing mixer, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure no lumps remain.
- Assemble: Spread the cream cheese mixture into a serving dish. Cover with a layer of caramel dip, and then sprinkle the English toffee bits on top.
