Red and green apple slices for serving (from 4 medium apples)
Instructions
To a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, sifted powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat on medium-high speed, using an electric mixer, for 1-2 minutes or until smooth and fluffy. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula to ensure that all the ingredients are well combined and no lumps of cream cheese remain.
Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a small (approximately 1-quart sized) serving dish and spread it out evenly.
Top the cream cheese mixture with the caramel dip and smooth to create an even layer of caramel dip.
13.5 ounces caramel dip
Sprinkle the english toffee bits evenly over the caramel dip.

Storage :
To Store: This caramel apple dip can sit out at a cool room temperature (approximately 68°F-72°F) for up to two hours. The dip should be covered and refrigerated for longer storage. This caramel apple dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Make Ahead: You can make this apple caramel dip ahead of time as long as you leave off the caramel and toffee bits until you are ready to serve. I actually prefer to make this ahead of time because it allows the dip to set and get nice and cold.
Tips:
I highly recommend waiting until you are ready to serve the dip before slicing your apples. You can help delay the browning of the apple slices by tossing them in a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice before arranging them onto a serving platter.
This recipe makes a good amount of dip to serve at a large party. You can easily cut the recipe in half to serve a smaller crowd. This dip is a crowd pleaser so I always make the recipe as written and store the leftovers to snack on for the next couple days.
A 1 quart small (approximately 9x6x2 inch) dish was used for this recipe. You can use whatever serving dish, or bowl, you desire. Just make sure it can hold at least 3 cups of dip.
Depending on the size and shape of your serving dish, your layers may look slightly different than the images shown. If your serving dish is wider and more shallow, then your cream cheese and caramel layers will be thinner.
I love the crunch and flavor of the toffee bits, but feel free to top your dip with chopped nuts, crushed candy, toasted coconut, or mini chocolate chips.
