Chunky Monkey Smoothies
We are always looking for good after school snacks and quick and healthy grab and go breakfast options. This Chunky Monkey Smoothie is the perfect recipe!
It only takes 4 ingredients and is packed with protein! Who doesn’t just love the combination of bananas, peanut butter, almond milk and chocolate chips? Better yet, it is also a great gluten-free snack!
Ever since we got our Magic Bullet we have been pretty obsessed with smoothies! This Chunky Monkey Smoothie is a MUST try.
This time, we tried something new with it…. organic peanut butter powder! Peanut butter powder isn’t something that I would necessarily use by itself on a PB&J sandwich, but it is a great option for this type of thing!
It has 90% less fat than traditional peanut butter (1g of fat per 2 TBSP serving) and a great source of protein and vitamin B3. You can totally make this recipe with traditional peanut butter too – either way, it is super yummy delicious!
This recipe is seriously so easy, you honestly cannot mess it up? Want it more peanut butter-y, add more peanut butter!
Want it more banana flavored…throw in another banana!
Too thick, add some more almond milk! If you are like me, I just may throw in some additional chocolate chips!
We love banana’s in our house, so we always have a ton. However, here and there I over buy them and they start to get too ripe to eat.
That is the perfect time to throw them in the freezer and let them wait there to make either a banana bread (see my famous recipe) or for our Chunky Monkey Smoothie!!
Before you freeze your bananas, peel them and break them in smaller pieces and then put them in a freezer zip lock bag and then freeze them. They will always be there ready and waiting when you need them!

Will make this again!
This was great Jennifer! But I didn’t have chocolate chips so I used 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and it was delicious. At least what I got of it was since my 2 year old took it from me and drank it all.
YAY!! I am totally going to try that next time!!
