I’ve been making Christmas Truffles every holiday season because they are the easiest way to turn a few simple ingredients into something that looks and tastes completely homemade. I love how the creamy peanut butter center and white chocolate shell can be dressed up with holiday sprinkles or crushed candy canes. These no-bake treats are perfect for gifting, cookie trays, or adding a nostalgic touch to any Christmas dessert spread.

Why I Love This Recipe
There’s something extra fun about a dessert that looks fancy, but takes hardly any effort.
- Only four ingredients and no bake: Quick to make with no oven required.
- Fun for kids to decorate: Get creative with toppings and colors.
- Perfect for gifting or parties: Great for cookie swaps, dessert trays, or homemade holiday gifts.
- Easy to customize: Add festive sprinkles, drizzle, or coconut to match any season or celebration.

Ingredients Notes

- Powdered sugar: Adds sweetness and helps the truffle centers hold their shape.
- Peanut butter: Creamy peanut butter gives smooth centers, while chunky adds a little crunch. I always avoid natural peanut butter that separates.
- Butter: I use unsalted butter for better control of saltiness and the perfect creamy texture.
- White melting chocolate: Candy melts, almond bark, or baking bars all work great. For the best flavor and smooth texture, choose high-quality melting chocolate or even white chocolate chips. You can also use colored candy melts for themed holidays or parties.
- Optional toppings: I love to decorate with sprinkles, milk or dark chocolate drizzle, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts for extra texture and festive flair.

How to Make Christmas Truffles
- Mix: Combine powdered sugar, peanut butter, and butter in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy. The truffle mixture should come together into a soft, moldable dough.

- Shape: Scoop and roll the dough into small balls between the palms of your hands, then place them on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Chill in the fridge for 15–30 minutes, or until firm.

- Melt: Heat the white chocolate in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each until smooth.
- Dip: Coat each chilled ball in the melted chocolate, place back on parchment, and add toppings right away before the coating sets.

- Set: Let the truffles sit at room temperature until the chocolate hardens, or refrigerate again to speed up the process.
Recipe Tips
- Chill before dipping: This helps the truffles keep their shape. You can gently reshape them once firm if needed.
- Dip twice for a thicker shell: A second coating of melted chocolate adds extra crunch and a smooth, professional finish.
- Add toppings right away: Sprinkle on decorations before the chocolate sets so they stick perfectly.
- Use a fork or toothpick for dipping: These tools make it easy to coat each truffle evenly and lift it out of the chocolate without mess.
- Melt half the chocolate at a time: Keeps it smooth and prevents overheating or clumping.
- Save leftover chocolate: Pour onto parchment to harden, then break into pieces and store in a bag for later use.
- Prevent cracking: Let the chilled truffle balls sit at room temperature for a few minutes before dipping.

Make Ahead & Storage Instructions
- Store: Keep truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. For best results, separate layers with parchment or plastic wrap to prevent them from sticking together.
- Freeze: Place truffles in a single layer on a baking sheet to freeze until firm, then transfer to a freezer-safe container or bag. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
- Make Ahead: Prepare the peanut butter filling and roll into balls 1–2 days in advance. Keep them covered and chilled in the fridge, then dip in melted chocolate when ready to finish.

Jenn’s Notes
- Be sure to sprinkle the topping onto the freshly dipped truffle before the chocolate is completely dried.
- This recipe makes about 18-20 bites, depending on how big you roll them.
- Don’t worry about the bites not being in perfect ball shapes. Once they are chilled, you can reshape them right before dipping them into the chocolate. You can also dip them twice for a thicker shell.
