Air Fryer Chocolate Croissants

My air fryer croissants are stuffed with Nutella and chocolate chips and are insanely good.

The air fryer allows the croissants to get nice and crispy so they are the perfect flakey pastry. Inside, the croissants are filled with melted chocolate and rich Nutella.

It’s the perfect snack or after-dinner dessert, because it only takes 15 minutes to make from start to finish.

How to Make Chocolate Croissants in the Air Fryer

This recipe could not be easier to put together. It only takes about 6 minutes to prep and then just a quick 8 minutes cooking in the air fryer. In under 15 minutes, you are enjoying gooey, warm chocolate and Nutella filled croissant.

Separate the crescent rolls and lay them flat. Spread Nutella on top of the croissants and place chocolate chips on the larger end.

Roll the croissants, starting at the larger end. Brush egg wash onto the croissants.

Place croissants in a single layer into the air fryer basket. Cook for 8 minutes.
Pro-tip: Spray with cooking spray or put parchment paper prior to placing the croissant in the basket. Cooking the croissants at 8 minutes makes them a deep brown but it’s necessary because any less and they don’t cook all the way through.

Drizzle with melted chocolate chips. (Optional… but why not!!)

Variations / Options / Add-ins

  • GARNISH: I love to finish these off with a wash of warm honey, and then drizzle chocolate and sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
  • CHOCOLATE CHIPS: I used milk chocolate chips, but semi-sweet chips can add a little more flavor balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to store Air Fryer Croissants

You can store leftover croissants at room temperature in an airtight container, or in the fridge.
If stored at room temperature they will last for 3-4 days. In the fridge, they will last for about 1 week, although the croissants may begin to dry out.
These are definitely best served fresh, especially since they are so quick and easy to make. I recommend warming leftovers in the microwave before serving.

  1. Where do you buy the Pillsbury croissant? I can’t find them anywhere. I used crescent rolls, but they just didn’t work.

    1. I’m so sorry, there was a typo – they should be crescent rolls. I’m sorry they didn’t work out for you….can you tell me how they came out wrong? What didn’t seem to work?

I love making these in the oven and wanted a change-up in the air fryer. 8 minutes definitely wasn’t long enough in my PowerXL; some of the middles and all of the bottoms were still raw (I used a sprayed piece of parchment cut to fit the bottom of the basket exactly). I had to flip them all over and go at it again for another 5 minutes at 360. If the oven takes 9-13 minutes at 375/350 (depending on nonstick) I’m thinking that a lower temp should be used for longer maybe. Still delish though super brown 😊

These are absolutely rich, filled with ooey gooey chocolate and oh so yummy!! All my boys, young and old, loved them. They are so easy to make.
