Shortcuts make our Slutty Brownie recipe even easier: a box of brownie mix, Oreos, and refrigerated cookie dough. Three delicious layers baked into one over-the-top, triple-decker dessert bar make this a crazy easy Slutty Brownies recipe!
What Are Slutty Brownies?
Slutty Brownies are undeniably one of the most decadent desserts around. They feature a soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie base, an Oreo cookie center, and a fudgy brownie layer baked on top. While it might seem odd that the Oreos lose their crunch in the middle of two soft layers, here’s why it works: the Oreos absorb the moisture from the brownie batter and cookie dough, creating a mashup that’s nothing short of a masterpiece!
Slutty Brownies Ingredients
- Chocolate chip cookie dough: Feel free to experiment with peanut butter or sugar cookie dough for a different taste and flavor combination. You can also skip the store-bought cookie dough and make it from scratch if you have a chocolate chip cookie recipe you love.
- Oreo cookies: While slutty brownies are traditionally made with classic or Double Stuffed Oreos, that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative and give other flavors a try. S’mores, Red Velvet, Golden, Mint, or your other favorite flavors should taste great with this recipe.
- Brownie mix (plus egg, oil, and water called for on box): You can prepare your brownie batter from scratch if you prefer.

How to Make Slutty Brownies
- Begin At The Base: Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Cover With Cookies: Arrange the oreos evenly across the chocolate chip cookie layer.
- Prepare And Pour: In a large bowl, prepare the brownie batter according to the back of the box, then pour it in an even layer over the Oreos.
- Bake: Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
- Serve: Cool, slice, and serve. Enjoy!
How Long to Bake Slutty Brownies?
For the ideal gooey, fudgy layers, bake your Slutty Brownies for 35-40 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center — it should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached, ensuring a perfect texture every time.
If you’re making the cookie dough and brownie batter from scratch, the steps are still quite similar, but you may need a bit more time and attention. The extra time accounts for the slight differences when using homemade versions.
Tips for the Best Slutty Brownies
- Prepare The Pan: I like to line my baking pan with parchment paper to prevent the brownies from sticking. It will also creates a nice little carrier that allows you to easily remove your brownies in one solid slab, especially because this recipe has 3 heavy layers. You can also cover the pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Start From Scratch: If you make the cookie dough and brownie batter from scratch, make sure to use room temperature butter and eggs for the best consistency and to help the layers bake evenly. And only mix until just combined. Overmixing can result in dense or tough layers instead of the soft, chewy texture you’re aiming for.
- Press Firmly In The Pan: Press the cookie dough evenly and firmly into the bottom of the baking dish to create a stable base for the other layers. This ensures it doesn’t rise too much and that your layers stay intact.
- Bake Chewier Brownies: For chewier brownies (made from scratch), include using a combination of both granulated sugar and brown sugar, as the moisture from the brown sugar makes them more chewy. Additionally, slightly underbaking the brownies and allowing them to cool completely before cutting helps retain moisture and chewiness.
- Cool Completely: Make sure you let your brownies cool completely before slicing them–it will improve the texture and taste of the brownie. Brownies are still cooking when you pull them out of the oven. They need this cooling time to finish baking and firm up.
- Tasty Toppings: These Slutty brownies are delicious as they are, but you can top them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped topping, or chocolate sauce to make them even more indulgent!
How to Store Slutty Brownies
- Prepare In Advance: You can easily make these brownies in advance. Since these Slutty Brownies need to cool and set before you slice them, they are the perfect recipe to make the night before serving. Letting them sit overnight helps ensure they are completely set up for slicing.
- To Store: Store your Slutty Brownies in an airtight container on the countertop for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- To Freeze: These brownies can also be frozen for up to 3 months. I recommend cutting them into squares and placing in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container. Defrost on the countertop when you are ready to serve.
