Ingredients

  • Rice Chex cereal: Feel free to switch this out for corn or wheat Chex cereal.
  • Honey nut cheerios
  • Pretzels sticks: Mini twists or square pretzels will also work in this recipe.
  • Salted peanuts: If you don’t have salted peanuts, unsalted or roasted peanuts work as well. Or you can use walnut pieces, almonds, or pecans.
  • Vanilla almond bark: White chocolate chips or white baking chocolate are options for this as well.
  • Easter M&Ms: This recipe is easily adaptable for other holidays. Just switch out the color of the M&Ms.
  • Butterscotch chips

Substitutions and Additions

  • More Mix-Ins: Feel free to add Easter sprinkles, colorful marshmallows, popcorn, white chocolate chips, coconut flakes, or Cadbury eggs to your mixture. Make sure that anything that can melt is mixed in after the almond bark.
  • Change The Cheerios: Instead of the Honey nut cheerios, you can substitute another cereal with similar size, shape, and taste, like Cap’n Crunch, Kix, Lucky Charms, and Rice Krispies.
  • Choose Other Candy: Use your favorite candy, like Reese’s pieces, candy eggs, jelly beans, gummy bears, or any colorful combination.
  • Custom Colors: Have fun customizing the colors for any holiday or celebration. For Valentine’s Day, use red, white, and pink M&Ms and pink or white candy melts; at Halloween use Reese’s pieces in place of the M&Ms; add red and green M&Ms to make a batch for Christmas; make a patriotic snack with M&Ms 4th of July-themed candies to celebrate!

  1. Can I put it in a lollipop stick? I like to take treats to my granddaughterโ€™s horse shows and sometimes I make rice crispy treats on a stick! The riders love them!
