Cinderella ….. She was always my most favorite princess. Her blond hair, blue eyes, beautiful blue dress and her sparkly tiara – oh how I loved her tiara. In pre-school, my friend Mark Burke gave me my first Cinderella book and from that moment on, I was hooked.

Fast forward 29 years…it’s Halloween and I have two boys, ages 2 and 5 (#3 came later). I decide that I am going to be fun mom and dress up. I go to Target – the happiest place on Earth – and there is NOTHING left…..except for a plastic tiara. Even at 33, I couldn’t pass up the chance to be a princess, what girl could? I invade my closet, looking for anything that I can wear to complete my princess costume. Now understand, I really only dress up when it is easy and comfortable. I wasn’t about to put on a cocktail dress and heels to go walk around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat….. not gonna happen. But I do find my pink, flannel, long sleeve, long pants, one piece, cozy pajamas – and so Princess Pinky Girl was born. My kids, mind you, thought it was THE BEST costume ever and wanted me to dress as Princess Pinky Girl from that day forward.

Princess Pinky Girl has made her appearance at many other times, other than Halloween. She has been the name of my band for Wii Rock Band. I tried to name it my mini-golden doodle (but my boys totally reneged it) and I begged my brother to consider it for my niece – he said “no.”

Fast forward to the present…. I have decided to start a blog. I have, let’s just say, a knack for finding good deals on everything from clothing to home goods to home design to travel deals and more. It could be my OCD that I over-shop everything to nausea, but whatever it is, I find them and I love to talk about them and share them! I have also been told that I have a good eye – – – so my blog was born! So when I decided to create my blog, I brainstormed with my sister about a name. Nothing I came up with sounded right, it just didn’t seem to fit. Then it happened……I told my sister, I needed something with some sparkle and bling and she looked a me and basically said, “duh, what about Princess Pinky Girl!” BOOM!

So who is Princess Pinky Girl – anyone who appreciates and gets distracted by sparkles, glitter, pink and any Disney Princess movie – we all have a little Princess Pinky Girl in us – some of us just choose to embrace it a little more than others.

Welcome to Princess Pinky Girl
