Chocolate Covered Cherry Fudge – Three ingredients. That’s all.
Chocolate Covered Cherry Fudge. Such an easy to make treat that won’t require much time, but is definitely worthy of gracing any holiday dessert table, or being wrapped and given as gifts to loved ones!
Tips for making Chocolate Cherry Fudge
- I used regular maraschino cherries for this Chocolate Covered Cherry Fudge. One small jar will have about 24 cherries inside.
- You do want to make sure that you drain the cherries and dry them off as best as you can with paper towels.
- As the cherries sit in the fudge, the juices from them will make the fudge surrounding them slightly softer, and if there’s too much juice, you will end up with quite the chocolate-y mess. Still tasty though!
How to store chocolate covered cherry fudge
Store the fudge in the refrigerator in a closed container and it will last for up to a week. I would recommend making it the day before you plan on serving it, or giving it away. This will allow you plenty of time to let the fudge set in the fridge to harden up.
Chocolate Covered Cherry Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 14-ounce can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 11.5 ounces Chocolate Chips
- 1 jar Maraschino Cherries approximately 24 cherries
Instructions
- Drain the cherries and blot dry with a paper towel. Get the cherries as dry as you can. Slice the cherries in half and set aside.
- Prepare a 9×9 baking pan by placing parchment paper inside, or greasing really well. (I do recommend parchment paper as it makes removing the fudge so much easier!) Set aside.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a medium size saucepan and heat over medium heat. Once slightly heated (not boilinadd in the chocolate chips. Stir while the chocolate melts into the milk approximately 3-5 minutes. Again, do not bring to a boil.
- Once chocolate is fully melted and mixture is smooth, add in half of the cherries and stir to combine. Pour into the prepared baking pan. Place the remaining cherries on top of the fudge mixture slightly pressing them into the fudge.
- Place the pan uncovered into the refrigerator to cool and harden. Allow to cool for at least 3 hours. I left mine overnight. Once hardened remove from the pan, slice, and store in a covered container in the fridge until ready to serve. Enjoy!
