Halloween Puppy Chow

My Halloween puppy chow is chocolate peanut butter Chex in powdered sugar, stirred together with candy eyes, candy corn and Halloween M&M's.

Place cereal to large mxing bowl.
6 cups Rice Chex Cereal
In a small microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter.
1 cup chocolate chips, ½ cup creamy peanut butter, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Heat for 1 minute, and stir to combine until completely melted.
Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and stir to coat completely.
In a large resealable bag, add powdered sugar and the cereal mixture.

Seal bag and toss to coat completely. Remove from bag and pour into large bowl.
Add peanut butter cup, orange and black M&M's, candy eyes and candy corn to the bowl and stir to combine.
½ cup Reeses' mini peanut butter cups, ½ cup M&M's or other orange and black chocolate candy, ½ cup candy eyes, ½ cup candy corn
Store in airtight container.

Tips:

Let the chocolate coated cereal sit for a few minutes before it goes in the powdered sugar. If it is piping hot, the sugar can melt into the coating and leave the puppy chow sticky and clumpy.
Rice Chex, Corn Chex and Crispix are interchangeable here.
Add any other candy you would like. Reese's Pieces work in place of the M&M's, candy corn with candy pumpkins works in place of plain candy corn, and I love adding pretzels for more salt.

Storage:

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. I can make it 2 to 3 days before a party, and the day before is best.
