Notes
Storage:
To Store: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks and try not to consume in one sitting!
To Freeze: You can freeze the cooled chex mix for up to 2 months.
Tips:
Ensure the butter mixture coats the cereal, pretzels, and bugles evenly. This will help in achieving a uniform flavor throughout the mix.
Allow the autumn Chex Mix to cool completely on the baking sheet before adding in the candy. This ensures that the pieces don't melt and helps maintain their shape.
As long as you use roughly the same amount of ingredients, you can really use almost anything in this Chex mix recipe for Halloween. Try adding bagel chips, melba toast, wheat thins, sesame sticks, broken tortilla chips, popcorn, goldfish crackers, sourdough pretzels, Cheez-Its, Fritos, or any of your other favorites.
You can easily make this fall snack mix recipe gluten-free. Make sure you do not use Wheat Chex in your snack mix, use gluten free pretzles, omit the bulgles, and check the labels on any other other mix-ins.
