- Buy a 15.25 ounce box of cake mix. Boxes now run anywhere from 13.25 to 15.25 ounces depending on the brand and the line, and less dry mix against the same oil and eggs gives you batter instead of dough.
- If a 13.25 ounce box is all you can find, adding about 7 tablespoons of all purpose flour and a quarter teaspoon of baking powder should bring it back up, though I have not tested that myself.
- If the dough is too sticky to roll, chill it for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 4 days, or freeze them for up to 3 months.
