Instructions
Line a small rimmed, freezer safe, tray with parchment paper. Set aside.
To a small bowl stir together the whole milk greek yogurt and baby fruit puree until fully combined.
⅓ cup whole milk greek style plain (unflavored) yogurt, 1½ tablespoons 100% fruit baby food puree
Transfer the yogurt mixture to a small piping bag and snip a small opening at the tip.
Pipe small, approximately ¼ - ½ teaspoon sized, dollops of the yogurt mixture in rows onto the prepared tray.
Freeze the baby yogurt melts for 2 hours.
Remove the baby yogurt melts from the freezer and transfer them to a small freezer safe, lidded container, for longer freezer storage.
Serve 1-2 baby yogurt melts at a time, or more, according to the age of the child.
Notes
Storage :These baby yogurt freezer melts can be kept frozen for up to 2 months in a lidded, freezer-safe, airtight container. Feed the desired amount of melts to your child, then return the container to the freezer until the next use. I like to let these sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving from frozen so they have a chance to soften a bit.Tips :
Baby 100% pure vegetable purees can also be used to make these baby yogurt melts. I suggest sticking with sweeter, milder vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, or butternut squash. The flavor of the sweeter vegetables combined with the Greek yogurt tastes more pleasing than vegetables such as green beans or spinach.
If your Greek yogurt has settled and the liquid is on the surface, stir the liquids back into the yogurt or simply pour off the excess. This will ensure that when the fruit puree is mixed into the yogurt, it is a thick enough consistency to be piped and frozen for these baby yogurt melts.
You can make a variety of different flavors and pipe them all onto one large, parchment paper lined baking sheet to freeze at once. This will give your baby a variety of flavors and colors to enjoy.
Depending on the age of your child, you can pipe small drops or larger dime-sized circles onto the tray before freezing. The size of your melts will determine more or less total servings.
