Using a double boiler, melt the dark blue candy melts.
Add in the sweetened and condensed milk, salted butter, and vanilla extract to the top pan or bowl with the melts.
Stir until everything has melted and combined together, about 2-3 minutes. Take the top pan or bowl off the heat.
Immediately add in ½ cup of the divided chocolate chip cookies and ½ cup of the divided mini Oreos. Stir until the cookies are evenly mixed throughout the mixture and pour it into the prepared baking dish.
Decorate the top of the fudge with the remaining chocolate chip cookies, mini oreos, and candy eyes.
Cool to room temperature and then chill for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator or until the fudge has completely set.
Once the fudge has set, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Storage:You can either store this fudge in the refrigerator, at room temperature, or keep frozen. Make sure it is in an airtight container regardless of which method you choose. Your fudge will be good for 2-3 weeks in the fridge or at room temperature. If you choose to freeze it, it will be good for about 3 months.Tips:
Keep the butter softened before adding it in with the candy melts instead of melting it ahead of time. You still want the melts to cook a little once the other ingredients have been added, and watching for the butter to melt is a great indication that the fudge is ready to set.
Don’t use low fat or fat free sweetened condensed milk. It could throw off the consistency and the fudge won’t be as rich.
Line your baking dish with parchment paper or foil and leave some overhang. This will make it much easier to lift the fudge out and easier to clean up too!
This fudge will soften a bit at room temperature, so I suggest keeping it refrigerated until you are ready to serve it.
If you cannot find dark blue candy melts, you can use white melts and add blue food coloring to them after they have melted, but before adding the cookies.
