– Cocoa powder
– Unsalted butter
– Baking soda
– Vanilla extract
Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. In a pan, melt butter, and add cocoa powder, and boiling water.
Combine buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Stir buttermilk mixture into the chocolate mixture and whisk together.
Mix this with the dry ingredients. Pour the final mixture into a prepared sheet pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Melt butter in a pan and combine with cocoa powder. Add milk, vanilla and powdered sugar. Whisk until no lumps remain.
Remove the cake from the oven and poke holes with a fork.
Pour the frosting mixture over the cake and let cool for 10-15 minutes.
