Rainbows, unicorns and other fluffy things – these all live in a place that we like to call Joey World! Joey is my middle son who has an incredible passion for life. He loves to bake (he get’s this from his great-grandmother and his Aunt Julie), play all sports and he is one of the funniest people I know. So when the boys asked for waffles this morning, Joey asked if we could make them into rainbow waffles – I couldn’t refuse because everyone needs to visit Joey World once in a while!
How to make Rainbow Waffles
It really is pretty easy….messy, but easy!
Step One: Prepare the waffle mix by following the instructions on the box (I use Bisquick).
Step Two: Separate batter into 5 -6 little bowls (depending on how many colors you want to use) and mix food coloring in each bowl.
Step Three: Quickly pour the first color around the outer perimeter of the waffle iron. Make smaller circles with each of the remaining colors (see pictures below).
Don’t overcook or the rainbow will turn brown and sad 🙁
