The chicken is tender and juicy, and the sauce is bright and spicy and strong and citrusy and just all the good things. I never thought that dijon mustard + orange could go so well together until I made this recipe and oh my gosh I just can’t stop thinking about more ways to incorporate it into other dishes.
While the ingredients list may seem long, it’s totally worth it + the prep is just as easy as if the ingredient list was short so there’s no need to freak out and run away. And honesty, most of the things you need to cook this recipe are things that you probably already have on hand: orange juice, garlic, salt and pepper, honey, vinegar and then the highlight of this recipe, dijon mustard.
Once you have al your ingredients at hand is just a matter of mixing all the seasonings and condiments together to make a thick, creamy, citrusy sauce. Just grill the chicken and top it with a generous dollop of the sauce and that’s it. Incredibly easy with totally elevated flavors.
I like to serve it with risotto and corn (both with soft sweet flavors) since the chicken is already packed with strong ones. But you can also serve it with pasta, mashed potatoes, or with a big salad.
And while you are at it, make a double batch of the orange dijon sauce and save it for later! It’s great as a salad seasoning, spread on sandwiches and even as a rub for baked chicken.
