pumpkin spice latte ingredients

Ingredients

The ingredients below are what you will need to make a single pumpkin spice latte. However, you could definitely make multiple lattes, just by doubling or tripling the ingredients. It would also be really easy to make one everyday for multiple days in a row after just one trip to the store.

  • Whole milk
  • Unsweetened pumpkin puree
  • Granulated white sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Brewed coffee
  • Vanilla creamer
  • Whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice for the top

Before making your shopping list, be sure to check out the information below. As with any coffee drink, you have the decision of what type of milk and creamer you’d like in your latte! I’ve listed some ideas for you in the next section.

Substitutions/Additions

  • Milk: You can use any type of milk as the base for your latte. Just like when you go to your favorite coffee shop, you have the option of your preferred milk. While whole milk will make it the creamiest, you could also use skim milk, 2%, almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, or oat milk.
  • Coffee: If you plan to make a hot pumpkin spice latte, it’s best to brew a fresh pot of coffee to use. However, if you plan to make an iced latte, you could buy a store-bought jug of your favorite coffee or cold brew to add in place of brewing coffee yourself.
  • Creamer: Just as with the milk, you have options when it comes to the creamer. I prefer to use a vanilla almond milk creamer, but you can use and oat milk creamer, coconut milk creamer, or regular. You could also opt for using an unflavored creamer such as half and half.
  • Sugar: Sugar substitutes can be used instead of granulated sugar.

How to Make a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

  1. In a mixing cup, add milk, pumpkin spice puree, sugar, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Use a whisk to combine them all well.
  2. Place in the microwave and heat for 1 minute or in a small saucepan over medium heat (do not boil it, remove before it begins to boil). Remove and pour into your glass.
  3. Brew 1 cup coffee and pour it into your glass. Whisk all of the ingredients together well.
  4. Add vanilla creamer and top your drink off with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

How to Make an Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte

  1. In a mixing cup, add milk, pumpkin spice puree, sugar, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Use a whisk to combine them all well.
  2. Fill a large glass full of ice and pour the mixture over top of the ice.
  3. Add 1 cup of cold coffee into your glass. Whisk or stir all of the ingredients together well.
  4. Add vanilla creamer and top your drink off with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

Tips

  • If you want to make an iced latte and you prefer to make the coffee at home, brew a pot of coffee the day before you want to make your latte. Let the coffee cool down, then place it in the fridge. This will give you homemade iced coffee!
  • This is a great way to use leftover coffee. You can put it in the fridge as suggested above and make an iced latte, or warm up the coffee when you want to use it in this recipe.
  • Stirring your latte well is key, the ingredients will begin to separate otherwise. I prefer to use a small whisk
  • Freeze the leftover pumpkin puree in Tablespoon servings (using an ice tray or something similar) then simply pull one out when you feel like a pumpkin spice latte.
