I am stepping out of my usual blog world or food and travel and sharing a little behind the scenes of what we do as bloggers to stay ahead of the game.
This post has been sponsored by She Media. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When I tell people I am a blogger, I usually get an “oh that’s so cute” or “cool…can you make any money doing that?”.
When I explain that this is actually a full-time job with a full-time income, the ears start perking up. The next question usually goes like this. They lean in a little closer, their voices get a little softer and they ask “Like a REAL income? I don’t understand, how?”
Yes, blogging is in fact a real full-time job, with a real full-time income, and lots and lots of full time work! While I refer to myself as a blogger the official title is actually a content creator (don’t ever call me a mommy blogger!)
Not only is it a real job, but the real interesting part about this job, is there really aren’t any rule books or job descriptions or how-to manuals! We are kind of making things up as we go along and navigating. the blogosphere while we are doing it.
This is why when we get the chance to be in an actual meeting space with other bloggers and influencers we jump at this opportunity!
BlogHer Creators Summit
There are many blogging conferences out there, but BlogHer Creators Summit is the largest event for women content creators in the world.
This is the 15th year of BlogHer and it gets bigger and better every year! We get to connect, learn and get empowered with 1500+ fellow bloggers, social media influencers and entrepreneurs.
There are workshops, inspirational panel discussions, wellness and beauty activations and networking with top brands.
The event will take place on September 18th and 19th at the Brooklyn Expo Center and if you are a content creator or aspire to be one, this is a not to be missed opportunity!
