Easy Taco Ring Appetizer

So, I’m not a huge football fan, but I do love some football food! So much so that we love tailgating at our alma mater and when we aren’t there, we will have friends over to watch the game. Either way, it turns into a fun mini potluck each time!

One of my favorite appetizers to make is this Beef Taco Ring. Not only is it super easy to make, but the presentation also knocks it out of the ballpark (I know, wrong sport). This is also a family favorite for a quick and easy weeknight dinner that everyone will eat!

Crescent rolls always make for an easy recipe! We love incorporating them into some of our favorite dishes. We love our mini chicken pot pies and you can even use them in desserts, like our Cinnamon Sugar Cheesecake Bars!

Ingredients

You don’t need much to make this yummy and delicious recipe.

  • Crescent rolls – Pro-Tip: Make sure the crescent roll dough is chilled before beginning. If it gets too warm, it becomes sticky and hard to work with!
  • Olive Oil
  • Ground Beef
  • Taco Seasoning Packet
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Lettuce

How to Make a Crescent Roll Taco Ring

This Beef Taco Ring is one of the most popular appetizers I have made to date. It is extremely easy to make and comes together in a matter of minutes. Because it uses store-bought refrigerated crescent dough, there are not a lot of steps.

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and taco seasoning until meat has browned.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and taco seasoning
  2. Place parchment paper or a silicone baking mat down on a cookie sheet. This will keep the taco ring from sticking.
  3. Arrange the crescent dough triangles in ring so short sides of triangles form a 6-inch circle in center. Dough will overlap.
PRO:TIP: I place the bowl in the center to wrap the ring around to help me center the crescent dough. Keep about a 4-inch circle in the middle.

  4. Spoon ground beef over wide section close to center. Sprinkle cheese on top.
add ground beef and sprinkle cheese on top
  5. Bring each triangle tip up over filling, tucking it under bottom layer of dough to secure it.
fold and tuck the point of the triangle under
  6. Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until ring turns a golden brown.

  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
Pro Tip: One of my favorite things to do is fill the center of the ring with dips. I put guacamole and homemade salsa in the middle and then serve with some tortilla chips. This makes a super cute display too!!
