The holiday season is officially upon us and the snow is starting to fall (where I live) and the temperatures have fallen. I have even started sending my kids to school with their winter coats, hats and boots! When the temperatures drop, I find myself in the kitchen baking and trying out recipes, new and old. I’m a major chocolate lover. I’m also a peanut butter lover. And, when you put the two ingredients together, I am in chocolate and peanut butter heaven! These chocolate peanut butter chip cookies are soft, chewy, bakery style. Perfect for dunking in a large tall glass of cold milk.
The best part about this recipe is that they don’t take long to make and the kids can even help! Or, if you feel like giving them as a gift you could also add the dry ingredients to a large mason jar and write the recipe on a cute and tag and voila! A super cute and inexpensive holiday gift. Perfect for last minute gift giving ideas.
These chocolate peanut butter chip cookies are perfect for those holiday cookie exchanges. I find if I don’t make them, I have friends asking where they are!
- 1 1/2 C. white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 C. butter, softened to room temperature
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2/3 C. cocoa powder
- 2 C. flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 12 oz peanut butter chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the sugar, eggs, softened butter and vanilla extract.
Slowly stir the cocoa powder into the batter.
Fold the flour and baking soda into the batter.
Add in the 12 oz of peanut butter chips.
Scoop the cookie dough, 1 tablespoon at a time and place about 2-3″ a part onto a baking sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes.
These cookies are fantastic when they are warm and chewy. I also like to reheat in the microwave about 10 seconds and enjoy with a cold glass of milk or my morning coffee!
